Job Duties
Employer: IMS Gear Braking Systems, LLC
Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes and drive continuous process improvement for production area to meet customer requirements. Conduct machine and process capability studies, support FMEA, APQP, and Control Plan development, and evaluate investment proposals. Conduct equipment commissioning, select released suppliers for indirect material, and ensure process parameters are defined and maintained. Create and revise work instructions, develop automation concepts, and collaborate with other industrial engineers for new project implementation. Evaluate and coordinate technical solutions, work on the commissioning of processes and measuring systems, perform feasibility studies on equipment and installations, and modify existing processes and machinery. Program machine controls, teach robotic systems, ensure safety compliance, and identify cost-saving opportunities through process optimization. Participate in 8D problem-solving activities, maintain automation history, and support cross-functional teams in resolving complex issues. Perform root cause analysis for complaints, spare parts planning, employee training, and compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards. Initiate and execute data-driven improvement projects to enhance product quality, reduce costs, improve safety, and support profitability. Support the quality department and maintain process parameters.
Minimum Education & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Plastic, or Chemical Engineering, or related field. Employer will accept 2 years’ experience in plastic engineering or related role in lieu of bachelor’s degree. Must have 3 years’ experience in plastic engineering or related role.
Minimum Skills Required
Must have 3 years’ experience with: production line with robotics and injection molding manufacturing; manufacturing and IATF standards; statistical analysis, including descriptive and inferential statistics, and process capability indices; reading technical schematics (electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic); Open ACS; Bosch Indra Drive; Oracle Database; Beckhoff IPC; TwinCAT 3; Siemens Step 7; Labview; TIA Portal; SIMATIC WinCC; EPLAN Electric; Solidworks; Creo; SAP; AutoCAD; and PLC control and programming. Experience may have been gained from pre-bachelor’s experience.
